Gladwin Township Board Meeting
March 18, 2026
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor Weaver. All board members
present. Pledge to the flag. Motion by Doug
Ritchie seconded by Jodie Klamer to approve minutes from the February meeting.
M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $283,966.29 and Members
First Credit Union Savings Account $6,582.91 Members First Credit Union CD $39,907.80
Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Doug Ritchie to
accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in
the amount of $71,453.26. Motion by Jodie
Klamer seconded Jennifer Slabic to pay the bills in
the amount of $71,453.26 M/C.
Alan Donaldson, County
Commissioner was present and gave a report. Alan reported there will be an open house at
the library for the county master plan on 3-25-26.
Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded
by Jodie Klamer to close the regular session and go into 2026-2027 budget
hearing at 6:47 . M/C The clerk reviewed the
budget. Motion to close the budget
hearing and go back into regular session by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie
Klamer at 6:52. M/C. Motion by Kristie
Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to adopt the 2026-2027 budget. M/C
The 2026-2027 Resolutions. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Jodie
Klamer for Resolution 26 -1-7 for the salaries for the board members Supervisor
$6700; junk enforcement $750; Deputy Supervisor $300; Clerk $14,000; Deputy
Clerk $400; Treasurer $13,200; Deputy Treasurer $400; Trustee $100 per diem.
Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic- yes Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried motion carried.
Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Doug Ritchie for Resolution 26-8 to
designate Huntington Bank of Gladwin to be the depository for the township
general account and tax account for the fiscal year and CD and savings account
in Members First Credit union. Roll call
Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-yes. Ayes carried motion carried.
Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded
by Doug Ritchie for Resolution 26-9 to adopt the millage request to be levied
for 2026 tax year of 1-mill assessment on real property for the Gladwin Rural
Urban Fire District. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau
–yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-yes. Ayes
carried motion carried.
Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded
by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 26-10 to adopt the Garbage/Refuse Fee of $175
annually per dwelling to be assessed against all subject parcels for collection
in December 2026 tax billing. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau
–yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-yes. Ayes
carried motion carried.
Motion made by Doug Ritchie
seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 26-11 for General Appropriation Act
with the General Revenue of $332,700.00 and expenditures of $319,700.00 and a
contingency of $13,000.00. Bills to be
paid prior to board approval are Consumers Energy. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes,
Ritchie-yes Ayes carried motion carried.
Motion made by Doug Ritchie
seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 25-12 to set the regular township board
meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm for the year of 2026-2027.
Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-yes. Ayes carried motion carried.

by Jennifer Slabic to sign the contract with the
Gladwin Community Schools to collect their taxes for 2026. M/C
Jodie Klamer requested to
purchase new cleaning supplies and more rugs.

to allow Jodie to purchase cleaning supplies and rugs. M/C.
Clerk gave the budget amendments
for the 2025-2026 budget. Motion by Doug
Ritchie seconded by Jennifer Slabic to approve the
budget amendments for 2025-2026 as follows:
Township Board Professional - $614.54; Office Equipment and Supplies $199.62;
Drains $1,357.81; Election Wages - $411.00; Clerk Supplies - $3,011.39;
Professional Services $118.75; Public Utilities $429.38; Fire Protection
Contract $2,162.39; Contribution Brine $552.58; Contribution Gravel $8,347.50;
Insurance Membership Fee $38.40; Insurance $580.00. M/C
Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Jodie Klamer to pay the County Clerk
$4500.oo for early voting for the August primary and November general election.

Cemetery Report by Jennifer
Slabic. They had four burials. Fireboard report in print.
Board of Review met for the two
days and went well a few people stopped in but nothing major. Good job to our assessor.
Public comment: Michelle Davis
from Arthur Township was present with concerns that they dealt with in Arthur
Township with the solar farm. Renee Zelt from Sage Township asked if there
would be drafts of the Master Plan at the open house. Renee also commented on the battery storage
facility that would be going into Grout Township. Many concerns regarding solar in Gladwin
Township. Many people not in favor of
solar in our township. The board encouraged them to attend the open house and
commissioner meetings to let their concerns be heard.
