Gladwin Township Board Meeting

April 15, 2026

 

            Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  Pledge to the flag.  All board members present.  Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by Jennifer Slabic to accept the March minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report general account $389,354.49 and money market account $46,634.73 Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Doug Ritchie to receive and file the treasurer’s report.  M/C.  Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Jennifer Slabic to pay the bills in the amount of $17,126.16 M/C.  Alan Donaldson, County Commissioner, was present and gave his report on the county.  He stated that the county commissioners meetings for May will be May13th at the Gladwin Rec Center and the May 27th at the Gladwin Commission Building both meetings at 9:00 am due to the elevator being out of commission to have repairs done.

 

            Notices were handed out for the presentation regarding solar on April 30th at 7:00 pm at the KC Hall.  Discussion regarding recycling.

 

            Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to approve Resolution #26-13 for property split for Kim and Roland Greer at 998 Hoffman Road.  The request is for 1.478 acres containing the house and garage the split is off the 31 acre parcel and meets the State of Michigan requirements.  Roll call vote Klamer-yes; Simrau-yes; Weaver-yes; Slabic-yes; Ritchie-yes. Ayes carried M/C.

 

            Request for a property split for Cody Wheeler on 880 N. Littletown Road.  The split consists of 2 acres with road frontage on Littletown Road from Curt Wheeler’s 80 acre parcel.  The split meet all of the State of Michigan requirements.  Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #26-14 to allow the property split for Cody Wheeler in the amount of 2 acres from the parent 80 acre parcel of Curt Wheelers.  Klamer-yes; Simrau-yes; Weaver-yes; Slabic-yes; Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried M/C.

 

            Jodie Klamer brought up the current credit card machine charge and wants to change to BS &A there is no charge to the township and each payer will pay.  Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jennifer Slabic to allow Jodie to go ahead with setup. M/C

 

            Kristie commented that she spoke with the representative from Invenergy after the last meeting and Sam McDermott reached out to her 3 times regarding answering questions.  He stated that he will get back with her regarding having some times available to meet at the library to answer questions with individual people.

 

            Cemetery report spring clean up will be May 1st.  No burials 

The supervisor commented on the place down on Parkway Street. 

There was discussion on the Master Plan and a lot of confusion on the open house. 

            Public comment -  Discussion with Master Plan and the zoning ordinances.  There was more discussion with solar and solar taxation.  Many concerns about solar.
