Gladwin Township Board Meeting

July 16, 2025

 

            Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  Pledge to the flag.  All board members present.  Other people that were present were Alan Donaldson, Corey Cuddie, Jeremy Cuddie and John Mella.  Motion by Doug Ritchie to accept the June minutes seconded by Jodie Klamer.  M/C Treasurer’s report general account $343,590.80  and money market account $45,356.73. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jennifer Slabic to receive and file the treasurer’s report.  M/C Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by Jennifer Slabic to pay the bills in the amount of $9,280.63.  M/C.

 

            Alan Donaldson, county commissioner, was present and gave report. He reported about the upcoming Hazardous Waste Day, August 9th at the city garage. Discussed the master plan and the parks committee. 

 

            Jennifer gave the cemetery report. There was one cremation burial.  There is a family that wants the foundation moved for the headstone on a grave they said it is not a footstone.  The headstone is currently in row with the rest of the row.

 

            John Mella was present and gave the fireboard report.

           

            Supervisor reported that a concerned citizen contacted him regarding someone removing stones from the McClure Cemetery.  He went out and took an police officer with him and talked to the person of interest and he did disturb some headstones.

           

            The brining was done and a lot of residence were happy with the double pass on the roads that we had them do the double pass.  We did get the brine request form for next year.  We will look at that the next meeting so we can see how much added cost there was for the double pass.   

 

            Board of Review set for July 22, 2025 @ 9:00.  Question regarding Amish signs for their businesses.

 

            Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer seconded by Doug Ritchie at 7:45.
