Gladwin Township Board Meeting
March 19, 2025
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor Weaver. All board members
present except Doug Ritchie. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Corey Cuddie, John Mella and Alan
Donaldson. Motion by Jodie Klamer
seconded by Jennifer Slabic to approve minutes from
the February meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is
$252,184.29 and Members First Credit Union Savings Account $6,314.53 Members
First Credit Union CD $38,362.71. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jennifer
Slabic to accept and file the treasurer’s report as
presented. The clerk presented the bills
to be paid in the amount of $67,878.87 which includes the reimbursement for
Jodie Klamer for the computer she purchased for her office. Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by Jennifer Slabic to pay the bills in the amount of $67,878.87 M/C.
Alan Donaldson, County
Commissioner was present and gave a report.
Alan reported on statewide recycling mandatory by July 2026. Commented on the Hazardous Waste Day watch
for the flyers.

seconded by Jodie Klamer to close the regular session and go into 2025-2026
budget hearing at 6:45 . M/C The clerk reviewed the
budget. Motion to close the budget
hearing and go back into regular session by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie
Klamer. M/C. Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Jodie Klamer to accept the 2025-2026
budget. M/C
The 2025-2026 Resolutions. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie
Klamer for Resolution 25 - 2-8 for the salaries for the board members
Supervisor $6700; junk enforcement $750; Deputy Supervisor $300; Clerk $14,000;
Deputy Clerk $400; Treasurer $13,200; Deputy Treasurer $400; Trustee $100 per
diem. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes,
Slabic- yes Ritchie absent. Ayes carried motion
carried.
Motion by Kristie Simrau
seconded by Jennifer Slabic for Resolution 25-9 to
designate Huntington Bank of Gladwin to be the depository for the township
general account and tax account for the fiscal year and CD and savings account
in Members First Credit union. Roll call
Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-absent Ayes carried motion
carried. M/C.

seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 25-10 to set the regular township board
meeting on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm for the year of
2025-2026. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes,
Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-absent. Ayes carried
motion carried
Motion made by Kristie Simrau
seconded by Jennifer Slabic for Resolution 25-11 for
General Appropriation Act with the General Revenue of $323,400.00 and
expenditures of $301,933.50 and a contingency of $21,466.50. Bills to be paid prior to board approval are
Consumers Energy. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes,
Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-absent Ayes carried

seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 25-12 to adopt the millage request to
be levied for 2025 tax year of 1-mill assessment on real property for the
Gladwin Rural Urban Fire District. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau
–yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes, Ritchie-absent. Ayes
carried motion carried.
Clerk gave the budget
amendments for the 2024-2025 budget. Motion
by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jennifer Slabic for
Resolution #25-13 to approve the budget amendments for 2024-2025 as
follows: Township Board Professional - $4,748.31;
Office Equipment and Supplies $6.46; Election Wages - $1,027.00; Election
Supplies & Expense $2,639.37; Clerk Supplies - $658.85; Reimbursement for
Township - $413.75; Opening/closing - $3,500. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes,
Ritchie-absent. Ayes carried motion carried. M/C
Motion by Jennifer Slabic seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #25-14 to
approve the ARPA Budget from 2021-2025. Roll call Klamer- yes, Simrau –yes, Weaver-yes, Slabic-yes,
Ritchie-absent. Ayes carried motion carried.
Jennifer gave the cemetery
report. One full winter burial and one lot sale. Jennifer is checking on prices for
computerized program for cemeteries.
John Mella
gave the fireboard report.
Treasurer settled with the
county for the 2024 tax year and all good.
Supervisor commented that two
people came to Board of Review. Supervisor
commented on Doug Ritchie being in a farm accident earlier in the day and
currently in the hospital. Also
commented that Don Hale passed away. Don was currently on our Board of Review
board and previously served the township as treasurer and trustee. He will be missed. The township board will need to replace Don
on the Board of Review before next spring.
