Gladwin Township Board Meeting
September 18, 2024
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor. All board members were
present. Pledge to the flag. Motion by John Mella
seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the August meeting. M/C
Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $358,588.47 and Members First Credit
Union Savings Account $6,138.13 Members First Credit Union CD $37,290.56.
Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to
accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented
the bills to be paid in the amount of $83,404.56. Motion by John Mella
seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $83,404.56. M/C.
Ron Taylor, Commissioner was
present and gave report. Ron mentioned
that Joel Vernier was getting a group of townships together to work on
blight. He will come to the township
meetings to explain.
The Election
Commission met and discussed the election inspectors for the general
election. Motion by Doug Ritchie
seconded by Jodie Klamer to appoint Renee Zelt as chairperson, Cheryl Edgar,
Anne Patsey, Phyllis Greer and Ed Schroeder. M/C
The clerk was
wondering how much to pay Josh Lambert for a double cremation burial on
Sunday. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded
by Kristie to pay Josh Lambert $400.
M/C.
The garbage
contract will expire December 2025.
Cemetery
report from Jennifer we had 4 burials and sold two lots. There was a tree that had fallen Brian
cleaned it up. Evert Cann
was unhappy of rules of next of kin but did find his deed and the lot was
transferred to him.
John gave the
fireboard report.
Garren
Griffith from DTE was present he is the project manager. He said he is always available for
questions. Public Service Commission is
where you can get information regarding the solar energy.
The clerk
mentioned that Gerald Breault is resigning from the township board of
review. If anyone knows anybody is interested please let the board know. Thank you to Gerald for his years of service.
The clerk will not be at the next meeting she will be at a conference for her
work. Kearstin Simrau, deputy clerk will
be present. Motion to adjourn at 7:45 by Doug Ritchie seconded by John Mella. M/C.
