Gladwin Township Board Meeting
May 15, 2024
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor. All board members were present
except John Mella.
Pledge to the flag. Other people
present were Ron Taylor, Corey Cuddie, Jeremy Cuddie, Jennifer Slabic and Constance Thurlow-White. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Jodie
Klamer to approve minutes from the April minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report was
given and the general account is $376,568.07 and Members First Credit Union
Savings Account $6,090.77 Members First Credit Union CD $36,849.64. Motion by Kristie
Simrau seconded by Doug Ritchie to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented.
M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $17,513.71,
Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by John Mella to pay
the bills in the amount of $17,513.71. M/C.
County Commissioner- Ron Taylor
was present and gave report. County
working on the Master Plan and recycling.
Constance Thurlow-White was
present and announced her candidacy for Gladwin County Clerk as a Republican.
Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded
by Jodie Klamer for Resolution # 24-18 to allow the Gladwin County Drain
Commissioner the authority to levy the funds to do maintenance on the Johnson
Drain in Gladwin Township. Roll call vote Klamer- yes; Simrau-yes;
Weaver-yes; Ritchie-yes; Mella absent. 4 ayes 1 absent Ayes carried M/C.
Jennifer Slabic
gave the cemetery report. Two burials,
mowing done for Mother’s Day, cemetery clean up and trees and brush
removed. The new driveway has been put
in at Ridge Cemetery.
Supervisor reported that Greaves
trucking removed all the brush from the burn area for a charge while they were
there doing the driveway. Supervisor
asked if we could add the bill for Greaves to our monthly bills to be paid
before next meeting. Greaves bill is $6,000 for the driveway and the brush
removal. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Doug Richie to pay Greaves
Trucking $6,000 M/C.
Corey Cuddie stated that there
are 3 amish schools in Gladwin Township and 2 are
exempt.
Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded
by Jodie Klamer to adjourn. M/C.
