Gladwin Township Board Meeting

January 17, 2023

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor. All board members were present except John Mella and Doug Ritchie. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Ron Taylor and Austin Tewasgay. Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by Kristie Simrau to approve minutes from the December minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $292,371.73 and Members First Credit Union Savings Account $6,081.97 Members First Credit Union CD $35,315.78. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $9,197.68. Motion by Jodie Klamer seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $9,197.68. M/C.

County Commissioner- Ron Taylor was present and gave report.

Kristie Simrau made a motion seconded by Jodie Klamer to have Pam Weaver, Anne Patsey, Kearstin Simrau and Kristie Simrau as election inspectors for the Presidential Primary, Febuary 27, 2024. M/C.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #24-01 for a $500 increase in pay per year for the clerk. Roll call vote Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes. 3 yes and 2 absent M/C.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #24-02 for a $500 increase in pay per year for the treasurer. Roll call vote Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver -yes. 2 absent. M/C.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #24-03 for a $250 increase in pay per year for the supervisor. Roll call vote Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes. 2 absent M/C.

Cemetery report given by Jennifer Slabic. There was one burial. She mentioned about having someone snow plow at Ridge at least around the outside. The clerk will find someone. Jennifer stated that she will be gone on vacation from 2-9-24 until 2-15-2024 clerk will take the calls.

No fireboard report. John Mella mentioned to supervisor that he could have Mr Bontrager make a new bulletin board box for Ridge cemetery. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to allow John to talk to Mr. Bontrager to make the bulletin box. M/C.

Clerk mentioned that she has her absentee ballot box coming soon. Bob Weaver mentioned about snowplowing with Lannie Campbell and it is best to just let Bob know when the hall needs to be plowed and he will contact Lannie.
