Gladwin Township Board Meeting

February 21, 2024

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor. All board members were present. Jodie Klamer was late and Ken Klamer was sitting in for her. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Ron Taylor Corey Cuddie, Christy VanTiem and Bernadette Weaver. Motion by John Mellas seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the January minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $289,585.78 and Members First Credit Union Savings Account $6,086.97 Members First Credit Union CD $36,315.78. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $10,096.35. Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $10,096.35. M/C.

County Commissioner- Ron Taylor was present and gave report. Discussion on the Four Lakes Task Force.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Doug Ritchie to appoint Cheryl Edgar as an additional election inspector. M/C.

Christy VanTiem was present and gave a report on new grant for cleaning up blight.

Cemetery report given by Jennifer Slabic. Jennifer said there were trees down in the cemetery. We need to figure out how many markers we will need. Bob will check with Lapham’s on a map.

Discussions on solar panels.

Supervisor commented on a light on the intersection of Wagarville and M-30. Check with public safety grant.

John Mella gave fireboard report.
