Gladwin Township Board Meeting
October 18, 2023
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor. All board members were present.
Pledge to the flag. Other people present
were Jennifer Slabic, Ron Taylor, Bernadette Weaver John
Vanderhagen and Chuck Frisbie. Motion by
Jodie Klamer seconded by John Mella to approve
minutes from the September minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general
account is $313,517.67 and Members First Credit Union Savings Account $6,083.13
Members First Credit Union CD $35,915.47. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Kristie
Simrau to
accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented
the bills to be paid in the amount of $10,836.21. Motion by John Mella
seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $10,836.21. M/C.
County Commissioner- Ron Taylor
was present and gave report. Ron reminded everyone of the Law Enforcement
millage in November.
Bernadette Weaver, Assessor
reported on AMAR audit. She did very
well just a few minor issues that she resolved.

Fireboard report given by John Mella.
Cemetery report from
Jennifer. She had 2 full burials and one
cremation. She sold a couple lots. Laphams are
scheduled to start next week with surveying out the lots.
Clerk will have the exact price
for tables and chairs for the township hall.
Clerk also mentioned that Garold Klein said he will be getting the
window sills and the door wrapped up yet this fall.
Chuck Frisbie, Gladwin Community
Schools Superintendent, was present to report on the error the tax bills. He explained how that money will be returned
to the taxpayers it effects.
John Vanderhagen was present and
asking for suggestions on what to do with the neighborhood on end of Parkway.
Our supervisor has sent letters to residents down there and visited homes a
while back. John wanted the board to all
drive down there and see what he is talking about. The township board is limited in what we can
do. We did refer him to the County
Zoning.
