Gladwin Township Board Meeting
August 16, 2023
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Deputy Supervisor Pam Weaver. All
board members were present except Bob Weaver. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Michael Duane, Ron Taylor. Motion by John Mellas seconded by Doug Ritchie
to approve minutes from the July minutes. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and
the general account is $362,333.98 and Members First Credit Union Savings
Account $6,079.29 Members First Credit Union CD $35,561.82. Motion by Kristie
Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the
treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid
in the amount of $43,925.54. Motion by Jodie
Klamer seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $43,925.54.
M/C.
County Commissioner- Ron Taylor
was present and gave report. He reported that the law enforcement millage
failed and that it would be on the November ballot.
The clerk mentioned that she
would be getting prices on new table and chairs for the township hall for the
next meeting. Jodie mentioned that we
are suppose to write a Thank you in the paper for the money received from the
Community Foundation Grant. The clerk
will do that.
The treasurer just verified that
the garbage charge would be $175 for 2024
John Mella
reported about attending the Hazardous Mitigation meetings monthly. The board appreciates his attendance at those
meetings. He requested a generator for
our township hall when funds become available.
Jennifer Slabic
gave the cemetery report. They had one
full burial. The mowing had been done.
Supervisor will check with Lapham
regarding the surveying at the cemetery.
They have received there check for $1750 to get started.
John Mella
gave the fireboard report.
The gravel has been done on Berg
Road and the East one mile of Weber Road.
