Gladwin Township Board Meeting
May 17, 2023
Meeting called to order at 6:30
by Supervisor Weaver. John Mella was absent all other board were present. Pledge to
the flag. Other people present were Jennifer
Slabic, Keith Fisher, Taylor Bradshaw -Invenergy. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Kristie
Simrau to approve minutes from the April meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was
given and the general account is $361,261.15 and the money market account is $5614.73,
Members First Credit Union Savings Account $500.11 Members First Credit Union
CD $35,606.12. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Doug Ritchie to accept and
file the treasurer’s report as presented with correction to CD at Members First.
Credit Union M/C. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $11,619.62. Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Jodie
Klamer to pay the bills in the amount of $11,619.62. M/C.
Discussion regarding the
surveying at the cemetery. Jennifer and
Bob met with both companies that showed interest in surveying and they will be
getting us sealed bids.
Clerk talked about the
consolidated school election with the pros and cons.
Clerk presented a property split
for Walter and Deidre Iciek at 3400 N. Hockaday
Road. The original parcel is 49.44 acres. The split will two parcels, the first will be
5 acres which includes the house and barns at 3400 N. Hockaday Road and the
second parcel will be the remaining 44.44 acres. The split in Section 6 for Walter and Deidre Iciek has been approved through zoning and the township
assessor. Motion by Kristie Simrau
seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution #13 for the property split at 3400 N.
Hockaday Road for Walter and Deidre Iciek. Roll call vote Klamer-yes; Simrau-yes; Weaver-yes, Ritchie-yes; Mella-absent. Ayes carried M/C.
The clerk commented on the ARPA
funds and that she had finished the yearly report. Jodie commented that we could move the ARPA
funds to our general account and then use them.
Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Jodie Klamer to move all of the ARPA
funds to our general account to be used.
The clerk will keep record of all of the ARPA funds and what they are
spent on. M/C.
Jennifer Slabic
gave the cemetery report. Jennifer
commented on talking to both surveying companies at the cemetery with Bob.
Supervisor commented on putting
gravel on the new driveways at the cemetery.
Public comment: Keith Fisher was asking about ARPA funds and
what the township was spending them on.
He was also questioning about road work.
The supervisor explained the road status in our township with the funds
we have to use.
