Gladwin Township Board Meeting

 

April 19, 2023

 

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  All board members present. Pledge to the flag.  Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Ron Taylor and TJ Thompson.  Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by John Mella to approve minutes from the March meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $364,344.05 and the money market account is $5,614.73, Members First Credit Union Savings Account $500.11 Members First Credit Union CD $35,131.10. Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug RItchie to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented.  The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $12,021.66.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $12,021.66.  M/C.

Ron Taylor, County Commissioner was present and gave a report.  Ron mentioned the solar panels and the county zoning.  The board had a discussion on solar panels.

The clerk had a cemetery surveying proposal from Lapham Surveying and Jennifer had been in touch with Statewide.  Jennifer and Bob will reach out to both companies and set up a time to meet with them at the cemetery.

New Business:  The consolidated school election will be Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Activity Center.  The clerk will be taking our election equipment there to be used by Gladwin and Butman Township residents.  Simrau will be the clerk in charge of the election for Butman and Gladwin Townships.  More discussions on solar panels in the township.

Jodie Klamer made a motion to amend Resolution #12 to change the garbage rate for  2023 would be $175 seconded by Doug Ritchie.  Roll call Klamer-yes; Simrau-yes; Weaver-yes; Mella-yes; Ritchie-yes.  Ayes carried motion carried.

Jennifer Slabic gave the cemetery report.  She had a burial and sold a lot.  May 1st is the cemetery cleanup date.

John Mella gave a fireboard report.

Clerk had the proposal from the Gladwin County Road Commission for 1200 years of gravel on Berg Road one mile and ½ miles 800 yards of gravel on Weber East of Hockaday.  The Weber Road will be split with Buckeye they will do the same of 800 yards.

Supervisor commented on the Red Cross contacting him about using our hall if needed.  The Supervisor commented on a garbage complaint.
