Gladwin Township Board Meeting

 

December 21, 2022

 

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  All board members present. Pledge to the flag.  Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Kyle Grove, Ron Taylor.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the November meeting. M/C  Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $278,797.65 and the money market account is $41,084.36. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented.  The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $27,655.32.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $27,655.32.  M/C. 

County Commissioner, Kyle Grove, and gave report.  Ron Taylor, commissioner was also present. This is the last meeting for Kyle and Ron commended him for the great job he has done as a county commissioner.

Bob commented on the tree removal at the cemetery. He said they were able to get most of the trees down.  He thanked all the people that helped him.

Ron Taylor said that the drain commissioner is doing a great job and has received a grant to fix a lot of drains.

Motion for Hardship Exemption Resolution # 21 - 2022 by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella.  Roll call vote Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes, Mella-yes, Ritchie-yes.

The board scheduled January 23rd at 6:30 for our 2023-2024 budget workshop.  The board will also be discussing the surveying to be done at the cemetery.

Cemetery report given by Jennifer Slabic.  They had one cremation.

Fireboard report from John Mella.  Proposed estimate from Garold Klein to replace the North entry door and windows on both sides for $4,275.00.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to have Klein Construction replace the door and repair window frames.  M/C.

Terry Walters, Drain Commissioner came in and presented a resolution to the board for authority to expend up to $5,000 per mile or fraction thereof of drain in any one year for the maintenance and repair of the drain.  Motion was made for Resolution #22-2022  to allow the drain commissioner authority to spend up to $5,000 per mile or fraction there for a drain in any one year.  Roll call Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver- yes, Mella-yes, Ritchie-yes.  Ayes carried motion carried.

Motion to adjourn at 7:22 pm by Doug Ritchie seconded by John Mella. M/C
