Gladwin Township Board Meeting

 

June 15, 2022

 

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  All board members present. Pledge to the flag.  Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Kyle Grove, Jessica Grove, Chuck Hinman.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the May meeting. M/C  Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $265,556.38 and the money market account is $41,027.18. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented.  The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $34,505.19.  Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to pay the bills in the amount of $34,505.19.  M/C.

County Commissioner, Kyle Grove, gave his report and that our application for the township ARPA funds did not pass to the next level.

Discussion on the township property where the dump is.  The clerk spoke to MTA and they said if the township sells that the township will be responsible for the contaminated property.  If the township leases the property it will go back on tax roll for the township to pay.  The township board will not proceed with anything on this property.

Kristie Simrau made a motion seconded by Doug Ritchie to sign the contract to collect the taxes for the Gladwin Community Schools. M/C.

The Election Committee met and appointed the election inspectors for August 2, 2022 primary.  The workers will be Chairperson, Pamela Weaver,  Kearstin Simrau, Jennifer Slabic, Cheryl Edgar, Anne Patsey, alternates are Phyllis Greer, Vicky Hoerman, Stephanie Mulligan.

Jennifer Slabic gave the cemetery report one cremation and one full burial.  There were two mowing on Memorial Day and Father’s Day. 

John Mella gave the fireboard report.  John Mella reported on attending the meetings with Robert North, Emergency Management.

Supervisor reported on the first brine being done.  Township received the corrected gravel contract that the board will sign for Ridge Road.
