Gladwin Township Board Meeting

July 20, 2022

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver. All board members present. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Tom Lennon. Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the June meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $258,184.57 and the money market account is $41,023.20. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. The clerk presented the bills to be paid in the amount of $9,270.95. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to pay the bills in the amount of $9,270.95. M/C.

County Commissioner, Kyle Grove, was absent.

Tom Lennon was present regarding cemetery lots in McClure cemetery in his uncle John Lennon’s name. Discussion was held on the fact that the township relies on their records from the past. Jennifer Slabic will go through her books some more but she is almost positive there is no other names on this lot.

The board discussed about the possibility of getting the remaining property at Ridge Cemetery surveyed with some of our ARPA funds. The clerk will send letters to local assessors.

John Mella gave the fireboard report. John also distributed the Hazord Mitigation Updated Plan.

The gravel has been done on Ridge Road. Supervisor commented that he spoke to Jeff Courneya and asked if they could run the extensions when they brine. The road commission did some patchwork on Nickless and Lechner Roads.
