Gladwin Township Board Meeting

December 15, 2021

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver. All board members present. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Kyle Grove and Bernie Weaver. Motion by John Mella seconded by Doug Ritchie to approve minutes from the November meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was given and the general account is $184,971.97 and the money market account is $41,050.82. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C.

Kyle Grove was present and gave the commissioners report. The county approved their budget for next year. Kyle gave us a redistricting maps for the county. Our township will be in District 2 with Sage and North half of the city.

The clerk submitted the reimbursement for the November election to the county clerk.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella for Resolution number 21-15 for the Hardship Policy. Roll call vote Klamer-yes, Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes, Mella-yes Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried. M/C Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer for Resolution 21-16 for the Hardship Exemption for 2023. Roll call Klamer-yes Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes, Mella-yes Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried. M/C. Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella for Resolution number 21-17 Assessment Record Inspection. Roll call Klamer-yes Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes, Mella-yes Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried. M/C. Roll call Klamer-yes Simrau-yes, Weaver-yes, Mella-yes Ritchie- yes. Ayes carried. M/C.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to keep Bernie Weaver as our assessor for another year at $12 per parcel. M/C.

Cemetery report by Jennifer Slabic. Two winter burials and one sale of a lot. Tree removal there has been no response. The rates for the cemetery. Clerk stated that the board would discuss at our budget workshop.

John Mella gave the fireboard report.

Supervisor said he has gotten no response from the tree removal companies. John Mella went to the road commission meeting and said they would like our brine request as soon as possible. The board decided 2^nd week of June and the 2^nd week of July for 2023.

Treasurer reported that the tax bills were all mailed out without the barcodes on them. She has asked for a credit on those statements for that.
