Gladwin Township Board Meeting

October 20, 2021

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver. All board members present except Doug Ritchie was absent. Pledge to the flag. Other people present were Jennifer Slabic. Motion by John Mella seconded by Kristie Simrau to approve minutes from the September meeting. M/C Treasurer’s report was general account $148,426.84 and money market account $41,054.14, Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. Bills presented for payment totaling $9,021.29. Motion by John Mella seconded by Jodie Klamer to pay the bills in the amount of $9,021.29. M/C.

Supervisor had two bids for tree removal. Top Flight Tree Removal for $2,275.00 with an additional $1200 to remove the very large Caltapa tree in the center drive. Everything Outdoors Company quoted for $4,500 with trimming the Caltapa tree. Motion by John seconded Kristie Simrau to hire Top Flight Tree Removal to remove and trim the trees on his estimate and cut the Caltapa tree down for $1200. M/C. Supervisor will call both companies.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to have the clerk appoint Phyllis Greer, Anne Patsey, Cheryl Edgar and Pam Weaver as election inspectors for the November 2, 2021 election. M/C

Jennifer Slabic gave cemetery report 2 cremations and one child burial. Mowing was done.

John Mella gave the fireboard report. Supervisor commented that gravel is done.

Road Commission annual meeting is coming up and John said he will go to the meeting for the township.

Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Jodie Klamer to adjourn at 7:11 pm.
