Gladwin Township Board Meeting

 

July 21, 2021

 

Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Supervisor Weaver.  All board members present. Pledge to the flag.  Other people present were Jennifer Slabic, Kyle Grove, Jessica Aman, Peggy & John Vanderhagen  Motion by John Mella seconded by Jodie Klamer to approve minutes from the June meeting. M/C  Treasurer’s report was general account $154,185.75 and money market account $41,062.31.  Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by Doug Ritchie to accept and file the treasurer’s report as presented. M/C. Bills presented for payment totaling $17,181.43.  Motion by Kristie Simrau seconded by John Mella to pay the bills in the amount of $17,181.43.  M/C.

Kyle Grove, county commissioner was present and gave report.  Kyle stated that the county would be having an election for a gypsy moth millage.

Letters were sent to Hojo’s tree removal, Oakridge and John Blades for tree removal in the cemeteries.  John Blades called and stated he no longer runs his tree removal service.  We will wait for responses.

Jennifer Slabic gave a cemetery report. She has checked around with other cemeteries to see what their policies are.  The board will look into some ideas on more income for cemetery.  There were two mowing.

John Mella gave the fireboard report.

Supervisor received a blight complaint. 

Question from Mr Vanderhagen about recreational marihuana in the township.  The board stated that we opted out of recreational marihuana so that would be up to law enforcement.  The township has no enforcement of that. 

Motion by Doug Ritchie seconded by Kristie Simrau to adjourn at 7:52 pm.
